The Ultimate Acne Solution

Most likely you are part of the 80% of us that suffer from acne, but don’t feel bad, you’re not alone. There are literally billions of people that have been where you are right now. With this in mind acne is actually the most common disease worldwide. It is a result of blockages with respect to the skin’s oil glands. The small holes in your skin (pores) connect to oil glands under the skin. These glands make an oily substance called sebum. The pores connect to the glands by a canal called a follicle. Inside the follicles, oil carries dead skin cells to the surface of the skin. A thin hair also grows through the follicle and out to the skin. When the follicle of a skin gland clogs up, a pimple grows. The causes of this process are not particularly known, but are being attributed to hormone changes, oily makeup, use of certain medications and hereditary genes. And to make matters worse existing acne can go through “phases” of good and bad days.

Many things, including high humidity, tight clothing, squeezing of pimples, and scrubbing of the affected area can worsen the condition of the acne. This will result in an increase in swelling and redness, and often lead to an increase in further pimple development. Acne comes and goes very quickly, at least for most individuals. For others it persists, and develops in to a stubborn condition. This can lead to many other problems, such as scaring and pitting on the affected areas. In these cases, people generally go to see a dermatologist who can prescribe them various types of topical creams, oral antibiotics, and many other forms of treatment based on the type and severity of their acne. However, many of these options offered by medical professionals are very expensive and leave your skin not only dry and flakey, but even redder than it was before. I’ve been down this same road; having tried medicated washes (benzyl peroxide), antibiotics (doxycycline and minocycline), and even home remedies such as citrus facial masks. Nothing really seemed to work as well as it was said to.
